AAA: Buffalo Bisons 8, Rochester Red Wings 2
SP Andrew Albers only made in 2 innings before being pulled, which should tell you about how this game went for the Red Wings. In that short time he gave up four earned runs on five hits and four walks. Also wroth noting that RP J.T. Chargois, who will be attending the Futures Game next week, pitched 1.1 innings and gave up two earned runs.
CF Darin Mastroianni went 3-for-4 with a run scored. LF Adam Brett Walker. DH Buck Britton, and C John Ryan Murphy all had a double. 1B Byung Ho Park went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
AA: Birmingham Barons 9, Chattanooga Lookouts 1
It was a shaky start and a blowout loss for the Lookouts yesterday too. SP Ryan Eades made it four innings, but gave up six earned runs.
The Lookouts scored their only run on a bases loaded walk by 3B Leonardo Reginatto. RF Daniel Palka went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. CF Zach Granite also went 0-for-4.
This game sucked.
High A: Fort Myers Miracle 14, St. Lucie Mets 0
Now this is what I’m talking about! Miracle SP Felix Jorge threw seven shutout innings, bringing his High A ERA for the season down to 1.55. The Miracle batters smacked 20 hits overall, including six doubles, two of which were hit by 2B Alex Perez. Perez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored on the night.
The only batter in the starting lineup who didn’t get a hit in the game was poor DH Trey Vavra. He did, however, get hit by a pitch, so ended up on base and scored a run anyway.
Low A: Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6, Cedar Rapids Kernels 2
Kernels SP Miles Nordgren had a strong start, giving up three earned runs and walking no one over 7 innings pitched, but his efforts were supported (or rather, not supported) by poor defense. 1B Zander Wiel committed a throwing error and SS Jermaine Palacios a fielding error that led to two unearned runs.
Wiel tried to make up for his mistake with a two-run home run in the 6th inning, but those were the only runs the Kernels managed to score, and it was not enough.
Rookie: Elizabethton Twins 6, Johnson City Cardinals 4
The baby Twins had 12 hits including five doubles in yesterdays win over the baby Cardinals. DH Travis Blankenhorn and CF Alex Kirilloff had two of those doubles, and also each drove in two runs.
Only one error today! RP Andrew Vasquez threw the ball away attempting a pick-off.
