Twins drove a 10-run stake deep in the heart of Texas tonight. Twins batters got to "Chi Chi" Gonzalez early, Max Kepler hit a sac fly scoring All-Star Eduardo Nunez, then Robbie Grossman got an RBI single scoring Joe Mauer. Twins got two more on the board in the 2nd from a Kurt Suzuki solo HR and a Brian Dozier RBI.

In the meantime, Tyler "Duffman" Duffey got himself into a couple jams, walking batters, plunking Adrian Beltre and Prince Fielder, and a wild pitch, looked grim a few times, but he managed to duff his way out of them each time OH YEAH!

On the other side of the field, Gonalez was having not such a fun night. He was left in partly, (I think) because Banister got a little flak for pulling him too soon his last outing and partly to rest the Texas bullpen. Whatever the reason he was pulled in the 5th after throwing 124 pitches.

Top of the 8th, the Twins decided to score a few more runs. "Mad" Max Kepler hit a 2-run HR off of Rangers reliever Shawn Tolleson. Suzuki, Byron Buxton, and All-Star Eddie each added an RBI

Rangers put in Jared Hoying, an outfielder who had just been called back up from AAA, to pitch in the 9th with his 59 mph knuckleball. It looked like a slow-pitch softball, or the kind of throw some guy who got picked to throw an opening ceremonial pitch and practiced in the backyard with his drinking buddy the night before the game would throw. Didn't stop Kennys Vargas from coming off the bench to PH for the G-man and going yard to make the Twins total 10. Hoying's final line: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K.

Rangers ended the shutout with Elvis Andrus batting Rougned Odor in after he had hit a 1-out triple. Final: Twins 10, Rangers 1.

Every Twin got a hit tonight except Eduardo Escobar who only came in to PH in the 9th

W: Duffey, (5-6) 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 9 K

L: Gonzalez: (0-2) 4.2 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 5 K

STUDS:

All-Star Eduardo Nunez 3-4, R, 2b, 1 RBI, 2 BB

Duffman not the qualitiest of quality starts but studworthy

Mad Max 2-5, 3 RBI, HR

Flyin' Hawaiian 2-4, 2 RBI, HR, 1 BB

¡Viva Kennys Vargas! PH for a HR

Pretty much everyone in a Twins uniform
