AAA: Lehigh Valley IronPigs 5, Rochester Red Wings 1
Welp, SP Andrew Albers gave up three earned runs which was by itself enough to sink the Red Wings. RP Marcus Walden gave up an unearned run (thanks to a throwing error by 2B Tommy Field) and RP Neil Ramirez gave up an earned run in the 9th inning to make the loss even worse.
RF Daniel Palka—who went 0-for-4—got the only RBI for the Red Wings on a ground-out.
AA: Chattanooga Lookouts 9, Tennessee Smokies 1
SP Stephen Gonsalves was strong as heck for the Lookouts! Lasted 6 innings and surrendered only one run on four hits. Had an impressive eight strikeouts too.
C Stuart Turner was the offensive standout of the game, going 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, and three runs scored. Watch out, Mitch Garver (lol, just kidding)!
High A: Clearwater Threshers 8, Ft. Myers Miracle 5
This game only lasted five and a half innings thanks (but no thanks) to rain. Miracle SP Miles Nordgren only lasted 4 innings and gave up 4 runs, and because the Threshers’ pitcher was so bad Nordgren didn’t even get the loss. RP Michael Theofanopoulos earned the loss, and frankly should be shot into space.
LF LaMonte Wade tired his best, though, hitting two home runs. He just can’t do it all alone (and trust me, I know the feeling).
Low A: Burlington Bees 6, Cedar Rapids Kernels 4
1B Zander Wiel hit a home run in the first inning, but the Kernel’s lead was short-lived. Kernels SP Lachlan Wells gave up three earned runs in the bottom of the first, and the Kernels never regained the lead.
Rookie: Elizabethton Twins 6, Bristol Pirates 3
LF Shane Carrier hit a solo homer and RF Alex Kirilloff went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in this baby-Twins win. They committed only one error too, a fielding one by 1B Lewin Diaz.
