AAA: Syracuse Chiefs 6, Rochester Red Wings 4

SP Adalberto Mejia didn’t have the most exciting start for the Red Wings today. Meija, who was acquired from the Giants for Eduardo Nunez, gave up five earned runs in his 6 innings of work. He did, however, strikeout seven and only walked one.

CF Byron Buxton led-off and went 0-for-3 with two walks in his first start since being demoted.

Rookie: Elizabethton Twins 4, Kingsport Mets 0

SP Ryan Mason had a real strong start for the baby Twins, giving up only four hits and one walk over 6 shutout innings. RP Johan Quezada pitched a perfect 9th inning to shut it all down.

DH Alex Kirilloff drove in two of the Twins’ runs, and went 2-for-3 with a walk overall, and is keeping up a steamy .361 BA in rookie ball. C Ben Rortvedt drove in the other two runs for the Twins, while impressively going 0-for-3 (an RBI ground-out and a TOOTBLAN).
