Jason Kipnis hit an RBI single to plate the only run in this entire frickin' game, which the Indians obviously won. This is so frickin' annoying because the Twins were so close—even bringing Max Kepler to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the 10th, but still. Nope. Indians win.
It was really shocking how long the score remained 0-0, considering Hector Santiago—who had over a 10.00 ERA starting for the Twins since being traded here—was starting for the Twins. Santiago, shockingly, actually had a nice outing, giving up only three hits over 6.1 shut-out innings of work. If there is a silver lining here, that might be it.
As for the Twins offense--they obviously didn't score anything. Joe Mauer went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk. Jorge Polanco also hit a double, and went 2-for-4 overall. Eddie Rosario hit the only other extra-base hit of the game for the Twins—also a double.
Can the Twins take this losing streak to 12 games? Who knows! Turn in tomorrow to see how it turns out.
