Twins massacred by Tribe, lose 9-2

Twins circled the wagons but the cavalry never arrived.

This was not the sweep I was secretly hoping for and I did not like it one bit. Nope, not one bit. A sweep would've also really helped the Twins in the pennant chase this year. Three out of four ain't bad though.

Jason Kipnis launched a solo home run off of Hector Santiago in the bottom of the 1st. Welcome to the Twins, Hector!

Twins loaded the bases up in the 3rd with one out, Max Kepler hit what would have been a sac fly scoring Kurt Suzuki, but a base-running snafu by Joe Mauer ended the threat instead.  In the bottom half. Ricky Santiago gave up a 3-run homer to Carlos Santana making it 0-4 Indians.

In the 4th Miguel Sano got a lead off double and two outs later, Suzuki batted him in on a liner to center field.

Dozier hung solo dong to center field to add another Twins run. Mauer singled then Kepler hit a line drive to right field, sounds like either Kepler or Mauer misread the play and Mauer ended up getting trapped and run down. Eduardo Escobar flew out on the first pitch to end that threat.

With two outs and Trevor May pitching in the bottom of the 7th, the Indians blew it open. Rajai Davis got on first, stole second, then third. May threw a wild pitch and Davis scored after it got away from Suzuki. May then walked Kipnis, allowing May to give up 2-run homer to Francisco Lindor. 2-7 Indians.

Tommy Milone came in gave up a solo home run to Jose Ramirez and an RBI single to Davis in the 8th.

Twins went quietly in the 9th. Final: Twins 2, Indians 9.
