TWINS WIN A GAME! TWINS WIN A GAME! TWINS WIN A GAME!

This was not the pitching duel I thought it might be. Both starters got knocked out before the 6th inning.

White Sox got the game going with a first pitch solo HR by Todd Frazier in the top of the 2nd. Tyler Saladino managed to get on 3rd, but Ervin Santana got Tim Anderson to ground out to end the threat.

Bottom of the 2nd, Twins responded in a Classic Twins© manner. Jorge Polanco got a hit,  so did Max Kepler. Kurt Suzuki hit a line drive single to left field to bring Polanco home. A wild pitch by Jose Quintana allowed Kepler to score. Eddie Rosario got on base. Then Byron Buxton hit a 3-run blast to make it 1-5 Twins.

Top of the 3rd, Santana got himself into a bases loaded jam. Suzuki had his work cut out for him as many pitches went into the dirt. He managed to escape by getting Alex Avila to ground out to 1st.

Melky Cabrera hit an RBI double in the 4th to add another White Sox run. 2-5 Twins.

Trevor Plouffe hit a homer to left center field in the 5th with Joe Mauer on 1st to put the Twins up 2-7. White Sox came back in the next inning with their own 2-run homer by Jose Abreu.

Suzuki came through again in the bottom of the 6th with an RBI double. Twins now up by four.

Ryan Pressly walked the lead off batter, who promptly haunted when Carlos Sanchez doubled to left in the top of the 8th inning.

Brandon Kintzler came in in the 9th and shut it down. When the dust cleared the Twins had scored more runs than the White Sox and per MLB rules, have won this ball game. Seriously, they really won! I haven't felt this excited about a Twins win in a long, long time!
