Mike Pelfrey's day started out well, getting the first three batters he faced out, then all heck broke loose for him in the 2nd. He gave up a lead off double to Kennys Vargas, then an RBI single to Max Kepler. A botched pick off attempt let Max get to third. Eduardo Escobar knocked Max in. Two bunts later, Brian Dozier hit a line drive to left field to bring both Eddies home. That was the end of Pelfrey's start as a smattering of Tigers fans booed him. 4-0 Twins.
Bottom of the 6th, Hector Santiago gave up a two-out RBI double to James McCann and Hector's day ended. 4-1 Twins.
Top of the 7th with two outs, Byron Buxton hit a line drive to center field and thanks to his speed (he was a blur on my radio) turned it into a triple. Dozier was intentionally walked and then stole second. But Kyle Ryan got Jorge Polanco to chase a ball to strike out and end the threat.
Buxton added an insurance run by batting in one of the Eddies in the top of the 9th. 5-1 Twins.
~Brian Dozier's 19-game hitting streak ties Nick Punto's July 4-28, 2006 streak.
~Dozier is the first Twin to hit a two-out, two-Eddie RBI (I think).
~Miguel Sano is back in Minneapolis having his sore back examined. A Strib sports blogger isn't buy this B.S.

Comment of the Game: St. Augustine -
Like this year.
But I have the premium I could go watch other teams win if I wanted to. But I don’t need to. I get to watch other teams win all the time when the Twins play them.
