Twins 6, Royals 5: Just chipping away

Though they trailed in the middle innings, the Twins countered every Royals strike with one of their own until they finally took the lead in the late innings.

Well this was a surprise. The Royals constantly inched ahead of the Twins in this game, but they rallied every single time and then finally took over against the shell of Joakim Soria. He is almost in the same boat as what we experienced with Kevin Jepsen, except Soria still has an ERA near 4. Still, this was his sixth blown save and eighth loss as he coughed up two runs in the 7th inning thanks to a Miguel Sano RBI double and an RBI single from Eduardo Escobar off Matt Strahm. Just for good measure, Byron Buxton tacked on an insurance run with a solo homer off Kelvin Herrera which proved to be necessary as Brandon Kintzler allowed a run in the 9th but still nailed down the save.
