Over the entire 2017 season, the Twins used an amazing 52 different players, including 36 different pitchers alone. That’s almost record breaking—the most players used by a single team in a single season is 60, set by the Rangers in 2014.
But, how many of those 52 players can you actually name? I thought this would be an interesting exercise, even for myself. Hence, Andrew Mearns—former Pinstripe Alley writer/editor and current MLB.com Cut4 writer—graciously agreed to create a Sporcle quiz for us, so we could all give it an equal go. If you want an idea of the difficulty level here, Mearns said he tried to take the quiz the morning after he made it and he still missed 22 players. (He is a Yankees fan, though.)
