Since not a lot is going on for the Twins (or any other eliminated team really) right now, and since the Astros beat the Yankees to avoid a Yankees/Dodgers world series which would have caused me to swear off baseball for all eternity, I’ll round up a few tidbits from the last few weeks that you might of missed out on. Or maybe you didn’t. My job is harder during the off-season, I don’t know!
This week’s soundtrack is from Bionic Commando, in which a man’s dead wife is actually his own arm.
- The Twins hired John Manuel of Baseball America fame as a pro scout. How positively analytical of them!
- Glen Perkins’s option was declined, leaving his career in a very tenuous place. Good luck with whatever you will be needing good luck on, Glen!
- The Twins future pitching coach needs to find a way to teach people to strike people out. Also contradictory to that statement is the news that the Twins wish to reunite with Matt Belisle and Brandon Kintzler in free-agency.
- The newsish collective bargaining agreement has some vague language about “mental health defects” in the arbitration system, which is both interesting and could lead to some less than nice results.
GO ASTROS I GUESS!
