I recently asked you, the good members of Twinkie Town, to share in a FanPost your jersey/shirsey* collection, which ones you wanted to get next, and other thoughts you have about jerseys.

* A "shrisey" is one of those t-shirts that has the team name on the front and the player name and number on the back, like a jersey, but it's just t-shirt.

I gathered together the data and opinions from your FanPost responses to identify and share the following trends. Hence, without further ado, the definitive and final results of the Official 2017 Twinkie Town Jersey/Shirsey Census.

Most popular by total number: Justin Morneau (12)

By total number of shirseys and jerseys, Justin Morneau was easily the most popular player among the responses. The next players with the next highest total of jerseys/shirseys owned were Joe Mauer and Brian Dozier (5 each), and they didn’t even reach Morneau’s total combined.

The ownage of Morneau gear, however, was highly concentrated. less cowbell, more ‘neau alone owns six of the total twelve, including two different jerseys, and four shirseys (one for team Canada!). I would expect nothing less.

The only other two respondents who owned Morneau shirseys each owned three apiece. One of those people was myself, who didn’t write a whole FanPost. Sorry.

Most commonly owned: Joe Mauer, Harmon Killebrew, Brian Dozier (4 people each)

While three different people each happened to own a lot of Morneau stuff, there were three players tied for the most respondents owning at least one jersey/shirsey: Mauer, Killebrew, and Dozier.

One respondent, TwinksFan93, mentioned specifically regretting their Mauer jersey. Seems kind of harsh!

Player with the most diverse jerseys/shirseys owned: Nick Punto

There were a total of foru Nick Punto jerseys/shirseys owned, and each was different. RStev2 owns both a Twins Punto jersey and an Athletics Punto jersey, and mentioned wanting more (specifically, “ALL of the Nick Punto.”)

TwinksFan93 owns a Team Italy WBC Nick Punto jersey. As they put it, “I got the Punto jersey because everyone hated him, but hey the dude could play some defense, and my dad loved calling him Nicky baseball.”

I also own a navy-blue Twins Punto shirsey, because duh.

Respondent with the most jerseys/shirseys: RStev2

The FanPost respondent with perhaps the most impressive collection of jerseys/shirseys was RStev2. Not only does he have a lot of Twins ones, but many non-Twins jerseys and shirsesy too. Seriously—he owns a Nick Blackburn jersey for crying out loud. Checkout his whole post for the rest.

Note: While I included most of my jersey/shirsey numbers in the totals, I didn’t get to write an actual FanPost and didn’t include myself in this category. RStev2 might own more than me anyway.

Respondent with the most Eric Hosmer jerseys/shirseys: Joeyself

The only jersey or shirsey Joeyself has ever owned is a Northwest Arkansas Naturals Eric Hosmer shirsey. I don’t know why, but this made me laugh.

Respondent with the most Japanese jerseys: bartleyrose

bartleyrose had an interesting jersey collection, including several Japanese jerseys procured at garage sales and second hand stores. Those are pretty hard to find in the States, so nice grab!
