Triple-A: Buffalo Bisons 9, Rochester Red Wings 4
Bisons SP T.J. House definitely got the better of the Red Wings, allowing no runs and just two hits in his five innings of work. After House was removed, however, 2B Leonard Reginatto put together a big day, hitting a home run, a double, and driving in two runs. DH ByungHo Park also had an RBI double, and CF Niko Goodrum drove one in with an RBI single.
Unfortunately, four runs wasn’t enough for the Red Wings. SP Jason Wheeler had a shaky outing, giving up four earned runs over five innings, including a home run to SS Jason Leblebijian.
Oh, and by the way, RP Buddy Boshers gave up three runs and now has a 20.25 ERA.
Double-A: Chattanooga Lookouts 7, Mobile BayBears 6
SS Nick Gordon hit a two-run, go-ahead single in the bottom of the eighth to take this one for the Lookouts and it was so sweet.
RP Mason Melotakis pitched 1.2 perfect innings with one strikeout. LF Travis Harrison with two doubles and drove in two runs. CF LaMonte Wade also went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, and an RBI.
High-A: Tampa Yankees 4, Ft. Myers Miracle 3
Miracle SP Randy LeBlanc had a brilliant start yesterday, throwing seven shutout innings and striking out eight batters and walking no one. Unfortunately though, the bullpen couldn’t hold the game together, as RP Anthony McIver surrendered a walk-off single to the Yankees in the 13th inning.
2B Nelson Molina did hit a solo-home run for the Miracle and LF Alex Perez went 2-for-4 with two walks.
1B Zander Wiel committed two fielding errors and again, yes, he was just playing first base...
Low-A: Kane County Cougars 2, Cedar Rapids Kernels 0
A shut-out loss. Ouch! Sad too because SP Clark Beeker actually had a pretty good outing, giving up only the two runs over seven innings.
SS Jermaine Palacios and 2B Brandon Lopez both went 2-for-4, but alas, no runs were scored.
