Triple-A: Buffalo Bisons 5, Rochester Red Wings 2

Way to go Red Wings defense—NOT! The Red Wings committed four errors today that amounted to four unearned runs for SP David Hurlbut. Two were by 2B Niko Goodrum, one by 3B Leonardo Reginatto, and one by RF Daniel Palka. I’m putting you three on blast!

Good news is things went better for the Red Wings bullpen. RP Raul Fernandez made his Triple-A debut and gave up only one run in his 1.2 innings of work. Hughe shocker too, but RP Buddy Boshers actually pitched not just a scoreless, but a perfect inning too. His ERA is now down to 11.57!

On the hitting side, 1B Matt Hauge, LF Ben Paulsen, and Goodrum all went 2-for-4. Other than that things were pretty boring.

Double-A: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 7, Chattanooga Lookouts 1

Not a good day for Lookouts SP Kohl Stewart, to say the least. Stewart only made it 2.1 innings and managed to give up all seven runs to the Jumbo Shrimp. Much of the damage came because Stewart pulled a Kyle Gibson, giving up a grand slam to 1B Taylor Ard in the third inning.

The bullpen looked nice, though. RP Todd Van Steensel gave up two hits, zero walsk, and struck-out six in 2.2 innings; RP Randy Rosario pitched perfect two innings; and RP Nick Burdi gave up a hit and struck-out two in 1 inning of work. All three relievers have yet to give up a run this year.

The only run for the Lookouts came when C Dan Rohlfing tripled and subsequently scored in the fourth inning.

High-A: Tampa Yankees 3, Ft. Myers Miracle 2

SP Dereck Rodriguez, son of Pudge, had a great start for the Miracle—giving up two runs, but striking out six and going a full 8 innings. Unfortunately, with the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, RP Michael Theofanopoulos gave up a walk-off single to lose the game.

The Miracle batters combined for six hits in the game, all of them singles and all by different players. No real big performances here.

Low-A: Cedar Rapids Kernels 4, Kane County Cougars 1

Kernels 1B Mitchell Kranson and RF Jaylin Davis both hit solo home runs as the Kernels won the last game of their road trip. SS Jermaine Palacios also went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Though SP Eduardo Del Rosario did well—giving up one run and striking out seven over 4.2 innings—it was the bullpen who really shined. RP Andrew Vasquez gave up no runs and only one hit and one walk in 3.1 innings, while RP Colton Davis pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
