Know Thine Enemy: Let's Go Tribe
Tonight the Twins start a four game series at home against the almost almost almost defending World Champion Cleveland Indians. The Twins did play well against the Indians last year , especially earlier in the season and in August when they scored 10 or more runs in three consecutive games against the tribe. But the Indians took the final two series of the year and ultimately edged the Twins 10 games to 9 for the season.
The Indians remain much the same roster wise this season besides the swap of Mike Napoli for the even bigger offensive threat of Edwin Encarnacion. A healthy Michael Brantley will also benefit Cleveland and the always pesky Francisco Lindor is sure to end any Twins rally just when things look good.
Our Twins have gotten off to a relatively good start for the year and currently lead the MLB with a team ERA of 2.46. New front office head Derek Falvey who was kidnapped recruited from Cleveland this offseason will undoubtedly know all the Indians weaknesses which might prove to be an advantage for the Twins.
Pitching Matchup:
Kyle Gibson is on the mound tonight for the Twins sporting a 8.00 ERA/1.333 WHIP in 9IP with 7K
VS
Danny Salazar for the Indians with a 4.63 ERA/1.286 WHIP in 11.7IP and 20K's
Rumor has it Manny Ramirez might actually play shortstop for BOTH the Twins and the Indians tonight. So quit what you're doing right now and come chat with us in the Gamethread!
