Tonight the Twins venture into Texas for the first of a six game road trip. The Twins are looking to rebound after losing three straight series at home including a clobbering yesterday against Detroit. The Rangers just finished a four game sweep of the Kansas City Royals at home after a somewhat slow start to the season and currently sit four games behind the Astros in the West.

Phil Hughes takes the mound tonight for the Twins following a rough 3.1 innings of work in his last start versus the Indians. Martin Perez takes the hill for the Rangers and was also shaky in his last outing going just 3.2 innings while giving up six runs ( four earned) vs the A's.

Hughes is 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA in three starts. Perez is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in four outings and has a much better record at home than away with a 3.36 ERA at home versus a 5.45 ERA on the road since 2015.
