The Minnesota Twins (16-14) try to play at least one more game vs the Chicago White Sox (15-16) for the hearts and minds of the AL Central.

Someday, I'll get to put "Game XXX" in a Twinkle Town gamethread title, but alas, this was not to be the day. This is basically a rematch of the April 7 match up between Hughes and Holland. The Twins won that one 3-1.

Pitching for the White Tube Socks will be Derek Holland (LHP, 3-2, 2.02 ERA). In his last outing against the Twins in April, the "Dutch Oven" held them to two earned runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts over six innings.

Phil Hughes (RHP, 4-1, 4.32 ERA) will pitch tonight for the Twins. "Mayor McRib" kept the Pale Hose to one run and five hits in six complete innings. Phil got a no-decision in his last game, holding the Red Sawx (no relation to White Socks) to one run over 6 2/3 innings, but he's struggled with his velocity of late.

Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MINNESOTA!!!
