Surprise, SURPRISE! After letting in the handful of fans who had lined up at the gate for the Batting Practice T-Shirt Giveaway, the Twins announced that today’s Royals vs. Twins game at Target Field has been postponed. If you live in the Twin Cities just look out your window and you’ll see why. (If you don’t live in the Twin Cities, why don’t you? We have one of the best unemployment rates in the country! And, um, craft brews or something.)

The biggest news is that the Twins and Royals will make up this game tomorrow with a doubleheader—and not a split doubleheader, but a STRAIGHT double header. That means the games are just played one after another, starting at 1:00 pm CT. If you go down to Target Field you can see both games for the price of one!

When was the last time the Twins played a straight doubleheader at home? Probably one of those awkward times where they scheduled it in the Metrodome as a promotion.

Phil Hughes will pitch game one of the doubleheader tomorrow for the Twins. Adalberto Mejia will pitch game two, although he still needs to be added to the 25 man roster. He could be added as the 26th man, which is allowed for doubleheaders, thus delaying the roster decision until Monday (a likely outcome I would say, considering this front office’s MO so far).
