Hector Santiago scuffled effectively in his last outing, before going on the bereavement list due to his grandmother's death. We all hope time with family helped ease his sorrow, and most of us hope he comes out inspired against the A's tonight. (I mean, maybe Jose Berrios is reading this.)
Oakland starter Kendall Graveman (cool surname!), like Santiago, is having a career-improving start to this season. Per FanGraphs, Graveman is relying more heavily on his sinker than usual, only rarely mixing in a change or slider. Both pitchers have seen their strikeout rates go up -- WAY up, in Santiago's case. 2017 digits:
