Hector Santiago scuffled effectively in his last outing, before going on the bereavement list due to his grandmother's death. We all hope time with family helped ease his sorrow, and most of us hope he comes out inspired against the A's tonight. (I mean, maybe Jose Berrios is reading this.)

Oakland starter Kendall Graveman (cool surname!), like Santiago, is having a career-improving start to this season. Per FanGraphs, Graveman is relying more heavily on his sinker than usual, only rarely mixing in a change or slider. Both pitchers have seen their strikeout rates go up -- WAY up, in Santiago's case. 2017 digits:

You could note, if you're a NERD, that unusually low average on balls in play means FIP considers Santiago to be hotter than Graveman right now. But that's not what you want! You want to see Ben Revere get some Graveman TOOTBLAN. I hear and obey. This happened last Friday:

Actually, it was Cliff Pennington being the real major nincompoop here. We still love ya, Ben!
