With their sixth round pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, the Minnesota Twins selected their second shortstop of the draft. Ricardo De La Torre previously played for the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy.

De La Torre is a 6’2”, 175 pound right-handed hitter. He was expected to be drafted on day one this winter, but slipped due to down performance this spring. He is expected to be able to stay at shortstop, and while committed to Auburn University, is believed to be signable.
