We’re Having a Buyer Sale?
USA Today asks whether the Twins will be sellers or buyers this year. SPOILER ALERT: They answer with a firm “It depends.” At the very least there’s no certainty about being sellers this season like in the recent past (and we should go for it).
The Evolution of Mascots Explained
The Chiba Lotte Marines' new mascot, which appears to be a walking female angler fish (I’ll let The Oatmeal explain) “evolved,” Pokemon-style into another form.

Looks to me it regurgitated it’s skeleton, which after being on the outside, decided it wanted back in, or something. Also, baseball cheerleaders? Is there an unwritten rule about that somewhere?
Morning Rounds
Mike Berardino has some updates on the status of the Twins sick ward.
- Phil Hughes is resuming a throwing program. He also mentions the possibility of having the other half of the rib removed. There was no guess as to his return.
- Glen Perkins threw 21 pitches in a simulated inning in Ft Myers Tuesday and was feeling well. His pitches reached the 85-89 mph zone. He’ll throw in an extended Spring Training game Friday.
- Hector Santiago who was expected to be available Saturday remains a “long shot” to be ready for the double header. He threw up to 200 ft. long-toss and could throw a bullpen session today.
- Justin Haley threw a long toss Monday and will throw a bullpen on Friday.
I found this looking for a different commercial. I didn’t even remember it until I saw the Sid Hartman bobblehead in the stands.
