Angels 7, Twins 2: More like poop-holes

Albert Pujols hit his 600th home run against the Twins, and it was a Grand Slam to boot.

Welp.

I think we all knew, shallow in our hearts, that Albert Pujols was going to hit his 600th home run off the Twins sometime this series. And he did. Tonight. Ervin Santana served him up a sloppy tater in the fourth inning and Pujols ate the whole thing—as in, he hit a freaking grand slam. It was the first 600th career home run to be hit as a grand slam, obviously, since only eight other 600 career home runs have ever been hit before tonight.

The grand slam also put the Angels up 7-2 over the Twins, which is where the score remained until the end. I mean, how do you top a 600th career home run grand slam? You don’t. This was Pujols’s game.

I swear to god Ervin Santana did that on purpose.

STUDS!

  • Max Kepler: 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI.
  • Chris Gimenez: 1-for-1 with three walks. Who the hell does this guy think he is!?!

duds

  • Byron Buxton: 0-for-4 with one strike out and four left on base.
  • Ervin Santana: 7 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks. yikes.

ROLL CALL!

Tonight’s roll call is EXTRA special as the game thread was late (but still poppin’!)
