Adalberto Meija had a great night keeping the Angels in check and the offense kept the fuse lit all night as the Twins win 9 - 5 at home.

After a balk scored Jorge Polonco , Joe Mauer decided to really get the party started with a 2 run shot to left, his 5th Home Run of the year giving the Twins an early 3-0 lead in the 2nd.

Max Kepler provided some max BOOM tonight going 4 - 4 with 3 RBIs. The first came on a double in the 3rd inning scoring Miguel Sano followed by a line drive solo home run in the bottom of the 5th. He would later drive in Eduardo Escobar on a soft single to SS capping off an impressive night.

Migeul Sano also had a good night at the plate going 3 - 5 including a 2 run double in the 6th bringing his RBI total up to 60 for the year.

The Angels would make things interesting in the 8th with a 2 run home run by Martin (not related to Candy) Maldonado off of Tyler Duffey to bring th game within 2 but the Twins would add a couple more and hold on as they take the first game of the series 9-5.

W Meija (4-3) L Meyer (3-5)
