Welp, as predicted, the Twins have called up right-hander Felix Jorge to start tonight’s game against the Orioles at Target Field. Hector Sanitago was originally scheduled to start tonight’s game, but was placed on the DL Wednesday with a sore shoulder suckiness a sore back.
As you may remember, Jorge made his major league debut last weekend, when he gave up three earned runs over five innings pitched against the Royals. Still, that was enough for the win, which was the Twins’ only win in that four game series.
In Double-A this year, Jorge has a 3.26 ERA and 61 strike outs over 85.2 innings pitched.
To make room for Jorge, the Twins sent down poor Alan Busenitz, who has been flying between Rochester and the big leagues so often lately it would make your head spin. Heck, I don’t even blame you if you didn’t know he was currently with the big league club—he didn’t even make a pitching appearance since he was last called up two days ago.
