Triple-A: Rochester Red Wings 12, Columbus Clippers 3
The Red Wings took a page out of the piranha playbook. They scored 12 runs on 15 hits, and 11 of those hits were singles. 3B/RF Niko Goodrum and RF Daniel Palka lead the charge with three hits each, and Palka also hit a home run. Palka’s performance is even more impressive considering he got tossed in the 5th.
SP Hector Santiago tried to not win today, giving up three earned runs in 4.1 innings. RP Alex Wimmers came in to relieve him, struck out six batters in 2.2 innings, and earned the win.
Double-A: Chattanooga Lookouts OFF
Apparently the entire Southern League had the day off.

High-A: Ft. Myers Miracle 5, Palm Beach Cardinals 2
Miracle SP Lewis Thorpe, who is notably from Australia, which is the one place with more frightening wildlife than Florida, had a good start. He pitched five innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and two walks. He was matched exactly by Palm Beach SP Conner Jones, although Jones went one more inning. Thorpe had the better relief today, as RP Tom Hackimer and RP Alex Muren prevented the Cardinals from scoring.
The offense for Ft. Myers kept the small-ball trend going, scoring all of their runs without hitting a double, triple, or home-run. DH Brent Rooker had two of the three RBIs for the night, and the Miracle also scored two unearned. Oh yeah, and Rooker, RF Nelson Molina, and SS Jermaine Palacios each had five hits.
Low-A: Cedar Rapids Kernels OFF
The whole Midwest League also had a day off, so that’s fun.

DH J.J. Robinson pretty much owns the scoring summary for the baby Twins. He hit a two run homer, and tallied a total of four RBIs.
Elizabethton SP Edwar Colina pitched six scoreless innings. RP Blair Lasko pitched well in the seventh, but faced three batters without getting an out in the eighth, and gave up the only run in the ballgame.
