Twins SP Bartolo Colon had a very nice night tonight giving up just one run over 6 23 innings pitched.

The Twins got on the board in the 3rd on a BUNT single by Byron Buxton scoring Brian Dozier from 3B and a silent hush fell over bunt haters everywhere.

Jorge “He’s so hot” Polanco followed that up by ripping a 2-run double to the gap making it a 3-0 game.

The Blue Jays got on the board in the bottom half of the inning on a solo home run by Justin Smoak.

Buxton made some great plays in the field (like always) including a nice catch of a Darwin Barney line drive to get Colon out of a jam in the 4th and this diving grab in the 8th with 2 men on for the Blue Jays..

Minnesota added a run each in the 4th and 5th innings on sac-flys by Max Kepler and Eduardo Escobar bringing the tally to 5-1 Twins.

The Twins would add on to the score in the 9th on another Buxton single making it 6-1. A bullpen combination of Busenitz, Rogers, Hildenberger, and the debut of John Curtis slammed the door and the Twins take game 1 of the series 6-1.

Studs: Colon, Polanco, Buxton, Bullpen

Duds: No Duds Twins Win!

Can’t end this recap without some Bartolo Colon fun:

Robot Roll Call Eh..

Have a great weekend!
