A couple of days ago, the Twins were looking pretty good at 3 games ahead of the Angels in the wild card standings. Now with back to back losses paired with back to back wins by LAA, that lead is just 1 again. Looks like the dream of the Twins pulling away late into this season isn't happening. Gonna have to grit our teeth through the end of the season. Hoping to be a stopper today will be Kyle Gibson.

We've been seeing vintage "Good Gibby" lately, which is refreshing. In his last 5 starts he's pitched to a 1.38 ERA over 32.2 IP. The peripherals aren't shabby either, with 3 walks compared to 26 strikeouts. He faced Toronto on August 22nd and threw 6.2 IP allowing just 2 runs. I'd take a similar performance today.
