Game Notes: (source ~ mlb.com)

• Kennedy is trying to end a 17-start winless streak at Kauffman Stadium.

• Twins infielder Eduardo Escobar is hitting .289 vs. the Royals this season, including four home runs -- three of those came last weekend at Target Field.

• The Twins entered Thursday having scored the third-most runs of any team since the All-Star break, and part of their surge may be attributed to patience at the plate. Nearly 10 percent of all pitches seen by Minnesota hitters in the second half have been in three-ball counts, which was the highest rate of the 30 MLB clubs coming into Thursday. The Twins' .518 slugging percentage in three-ball counts since the All-Star Game ranked second to the Rangers.

If you can't drive down to the game tonight here is a video of a trip through Iowa to help you feel like you did. Featuring the BoDeans song 'Good Things'.
