- During a visit to Minnesota in which he helped teammates and former Twins distribute Christmas Gifts at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, Byron Buxton took an opportunity to open up to the media. He expressed some clear frustrations with the way his season was handled last offseason, as well as the fact he has no idea what the team wants from him right now.
- Hopefully the visits that Rocco Baldelli is planning to make to both Buxton and Miguel Sano at their homes before Spring Training will help to clarify where he stands with the team, as well as expectations, and build a relationship between the two pivotal young players and the man tasked with furthering their careers.
- The MLBPA hosted an all-player Fortnite tournament during the Winter Meetings. It may not surprise you that the winning duo was a pair of Minnesota Twins. It may, however surprise you which Twin wasn’t one of those guys. Well-known gamer and Twins’ pitcher Trevor May participated, but did not win the tournament.
- Some Twins-related news came out of U.S. Bank Stadium this week as well, with the Viking’s home install a plaque to mark where home plate stood in the Dome. It’s also been eight years this week since the roof collapsed on the Metrodome (for the final time.)
