The Twins have been waiting, and waiting, AND WAITING to find out if top free agent pitcher Yu Darvish would sign with them. Then, today, we got this:
BREAKING: Yu Darvish to #Cubs, six year-deal in $150M range, sources tell The Athletic. Pending physical.
— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) February 10, 2018
Ken Rosenthal is a pretty reputable guy, so this is probably true, and means the Twins... lost the Yu Darvish race.
Legit the worst I’ve felt since the Uptown Arby’s closed. And speaking of Arby’s, here’s Jon Heyman’s reaction:
hey cubs, yu are interrupting marlins fanfest!

twins and brewers are believed to have made five-year, $100M-plus offers for darvish. dodgers are believed to have been willing to go to six, too. #cubs

So, YEP. It was that sixth year. The Twins lost because they would not offer that sixth year.
/screams into pillow
I NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY YU DARVISH!!!!!!
