If you like your prospects with high ceilings, big bonuses and high expectations you will love your Cedar Rapids Kernels.

See full roster here.

Notables:

2 # 1 round picks Royce Lewis and Alex Kirilloff made the squad. Can Lewis stay hot? Can Kirilloff shake off the rust after being out all of last year? Both should end the year at Fort Myers, both could change positions.

3 2nd Rounders from the 2016 draft made the squad. Will Akil Baddoo stay hot and launch himself into a top 50 MiLB overall prospect? Will Jose Miranda keep hitting and become a top 100 MiLB prospect? Will Ben Rortvedt ever hit or will fellow catcher David Banuelos beat him out?

Blayne Enlow is the highest ceiling pitcher on the roster. Great to see the Twins push him up to Low A. I am looking forward to watching Andrew Bechtold get his first taste of full season ball. I think he could get promoted fast if he starts out hot.

Will Jovani Moran keep his video game good numbers going? He pitched 24 innings and had 45 SO's last year. Will Tyler Wells regain his pre-injury form and dominate from the mound again? Will Trey Cabbage hit? Is Nick Brown good?

Notable Misses:

Where is Wander Javier? I thought he was lock for this squad. I would guess they are planning on getting Lewis to Fort Myers quickly and Javier will take his spot. I bought into the Brusdar Graterol hype train but he is not here too.

If I lived in the Midwest area, I would plan on a May road trip to Iowa this year. This group of prospects is the future of the Twins and I suspect more than a few of them will get promotion to High A in June. Opening Day is April 5th!
