After a controversial defeat in the opener yesterday, the Minnesota Twins will aim for a series-tying victory in the late Floridian afternoon.
Kyle Gibson will go for the Twins this evening. Gibson hasn't lasted more than 4 1/3 innings since his first outing of the year on March 31st, but the Twins have still won all three of his starts. Last time out against Houston, Kyle walked four and gave up five earned runs in his worst appearance of 2018, but Magic Gibson Run Support kicked in and Minnesota still came away with the victory.
On the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays tonight is 25-year-old lefty Blake Snell, a product of the Rays system in his third major-league season. Snell has always had control issues (a career 4.5 BB/9 at the big-league level), but is able to score strikeouts with a very even mix of slider, curve, and change. Opponents are hitting .173 against Snell so far this year, and his ERA is at 2.95 entering play.
GO TWINS GO!!!
