Tonight is a make up game for April 8th, which was postponed due to the fact that early April weather in Minnesota was not conducive to baseball this year.
The Twins will face the Mariners, and are coming in off a bit of a hot streak. Despite splitting their most recent series with the Angels, the Twins have won seven of their last ten games. Speaking of splits, the Twins and Mariners split the two games they did play this season.
The first game was a Twins win earned by Zach Duke, in what was Kyle Gibson's shortest start of the season. In the second game, Jose Berrios gave up five runs in less than five innings, and the bullpen gave up six more on the way to the loss.
Today's starter for the Twins will be Jake Odorizzi. Versus the current Mariners, he has been pretty much Odorizzi, and by that I mean he's given up a few dongs, and a few more walks, but also gotten strike outs and overall been an effective pitcher.
Seattle counters with Wade LeBlanc. He's a leftie, and quite well-traveled. He's pitched for eight different teams in a ten year MLB career. The Twins have only batted against him in small samples. Logan Morrison is 1-for-6, Robbie Grossman is 1-for-2, and both Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar are 0-for-1.
Today's Twins line-up is a bit less weird than yesterday, but Eddie Rosario has the day off with Robbie "Try Hard" Grossman starting in left field. Joe Mauer is the DH, and Morrison will be playing first. The full line ups are below
