The Mariners counter Jose Berrios with RHP Mike Leake. He hasn't been very good this year, but is coming off one of his best starts in 2018 (6.2 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 K) against the A's. He last faced the Twins on April 7th, when the Mariners won 11-4 (5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 0 K).

Jose Berrios has had an interesting year. In his 10 starts so far, he's had 5 starts with game scores over 75, and 5 starts with game scores below 50 (where 50 is average). Also, 5 starts allowing 4 ER or more, and 5 starts allowing 2 ER or less. This was just a neat dichotomy I noticed while looking at the game logs.

Before the game, the Twins announced they have traded Phil Hughes.
