Know Thine Enemy:Royals Review
Coming off a disappointing 14 inning loss last night, the Twins hope to right the ship tonight against Royals rookie pitcher Brad Keller. Who or what is a Brad Keller you say? Well the Royals picked him up as a Rule 5 pick this offseason from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was primarily a starter in the minor leagues with mediocre results, but has been used in the bullpen this year so far by the Royals and has pitched well in that role. He is making his first MLB start tonight in place of the injured Eric Scoglund. He's a big dude at 6' 5'' and 230 lbs , and throws a fastball in the mid to upper 90's which he compliments with a good change-up and an average slider. If you would like to read about his journey to the big leagues I found a nice article about him on kansascity.com.
Fernando Romero has been brilliant in his young career so far for the Twins. He pitched well in his last start against the Mariners, but took his first loss after receiving no offensive support from his teammates. Hopefully somebody gives the Twins some magic beans that makes the bats come alive and produce some runs, because whatever beans they are eating lately are not doing the job.
In other news it was just announced Byron Buxton will return to the disabled list again. :(
Now buckle your pants for some exciting and epic Twins baseball!!
Hey you! Buckle your pants!! Yes you!!! Buckle your pants!!!!
