Twins 4, White Sox 2: Eduardo Escobar is my best friend

And I’m willing to share!

It feels like every recap I write starts with me saying how Twins starter Fernando Romero pitched a pretty darn good game, but the offense forgot how to offense. That’s uh, basically PART of this recap. It gets better though.

Yoan Moncada led the game off with a solo dinger to center off of Romero’s very first pitch. Romero would allow some runners in scoring position over the next few innings, but only Moncada (again) would score, being doubled in by Jose Abreu in the 5th. Romero would leave after the 6th, giving up 7 hits, 2 runs and striking out 4.

The Twins hitters, presumably just finishing eating an apple given to them by a witch, could not awaken their bats and figure out Chicago SP Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez gave up a mere one hit (and 4 walks) over his 7 innings of work. No, I don’t know who Reynaldo Lopez is either, but judging by this game he’s been given god powers temporarily like in Bruce Almighty. Not sure that series needed a third flick, God. Your call though.

Nate Jones relieved Lopez for the 8th and promptly got two outs. Brian Dozier managed to barely beat out a single. Eddie Rosario walked and then Miguel Sano smacked a single and Brian Dozier scored. Wow! That’s allowed!

Hey, who’s up now? Oh, that’s right. Ed. Obviously a three run dong to straight center followed. GOD BLESS EDMERICA, MY HOME SWEET HOME!

There was a pitching change while I scrambled to change the negative tone of the recap title to a positive one. (Thanks Eduardo Escobar, UGH) Luis Avilan came in and got Kepler to foul the ball off of himself, for a strikeout? Apparently that’s not a review-able play and no umps were paying attention so, okay then! Poor Max.

Fernando Rodney came in to get that sweet sweet save, and he did so with a 1-2-3 inning! Twins win! I’ll see you in 30 minutes for game 2!

STUDS: EDUARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ESCOBAAAAAAAR!

DUDS: NO DUDS TWINS COMEBACK WIN!

Robot Rolling Call!
