After a 4-2 win in the beginning of today’s doubleheader, the Twins just couldn’t keep it together later tonight. I don’t want to blame it in Zack Littell — the 22-your-old who made his major league debut for the Twins tonight — but... he did kind of give up six earned runs over 3.0 innings? So like... I mean...? It was kind of your fault, Littell. Sort of?
What the Twins are supposed to do, is call in Matt Magill. I still refuse to acknowledge who Matt Magill is because I’m an asshole, but he’s actually been doing pretty well — posting a 1.53 ERA over 17.2 innings for the Twins this year, in fact. That is probably the scariest statistic I have EVER seen for the Twins and WHAT? I hardly known who Matt Magill is, but apparently he’s saving the Twins and he saved them tonight.
But yeah, apparently not even MATT MAGILL (*heaves into a paper bag for a second*) and whoever Matt Magill IS pitched three scoreless innings tonight! How about that? Trevor Hildenberger, Taylor Rogers, and Zach Duke each pitched a scoreless inning after that too... which calmed me down a lot from the WHO IS MATT MAGILL AND HOW DOES HE HAVE A 1.53 ERA OVER 17.2 INNINGS PITCHED FOR THE TWINS THIS YEAR? WTF?
But any-who, the Twins lost. They are now third in the AL Central, trailing the first-place Indians by 4.0 games.
ROLL CALL!
