The last time Kyle Gibson was credited with a win, the calendar had yet to flip to April. It's not as though that statistic matters; Gibby's 118 ERA+ leads the staff. Still, Gibson going deep into a ballgame and the offense giving him some runs to throw up on the board would likely result in both a win for Kyle and a win for the club. Not a bad outcome.

Gibson's opponent today will be Tyler Skaggs, a 26-year-old lefty who's having his best year in the bigs so far this season. Through 66 innings, Skaggs has a 3.27 ERA, an 8.5 H/9, a 9.5 K/9, and a 125 ERA+, which would all be career marks if he kept up those paces throughout the rest of the year. Skaggs loves his curveball, which he's thrown almost as much as his straight fastball this year.

Enjoy the game!
