The Royals wasted no time getting to Lance Lynn. A single, an error, and a home run by Salvador Perez gave Kansas City a quick 3-0 lead.
The Twins answered back in the 2nd on an two-out RBI triple from Jake Cave followed by an RBI single from Bobby Wilson to cut the lead to 3-2.
Lynn surrendered another home run in the 3rd, this time to Mike Moustakas, making it a 4-2 game.
Wilson again came though in the 4th with a clutch RBI double. And after Eddie Rosario was walked to load the bases, a Brain Dozier dribbler brought in Cave and then Wilson on a throwing error by Royals pitcher Glenn Sparkman.
Lynn got into some trouble in the sixth, putting two-on with no outs on a HBP and a walk. Ryan Pressly was called in and promptly hit the first batter he faced to load the bases. But Pressly settled down issuing a couple strikeouts and a flyout to end the jam.
Dozier again showed he might be starting to heat up with a two-run homer in the 6th, his 15th on the year. Logan Morrison also took one deep a couple of at-bats later giving the Twins a comfortable 8-4 lead.
Alan Busenitz finished out the 8th and 9th, giving up another HR to Moustakis, but the Twins take the game and the series with the Tampa Bay Rays coming into town tomorrow for a four-game series.
