Often, when a beloved player is traded, they try to express their love and gratitude to the fans they are leaving in some sort of public way. This said love and gratitude usually comes in the form of a full-page ad in the local newspaper. Even though Newspapers are basically dead, players still seem to take this approach — except if you’re Eduardo Escobar.
Escobar — who the Twins traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday — has stepped into the 22nd century of players addressing the beloved fans they are involuntarily leaving via trade with the issue of the following tweet:
THANK YOU Minnesota! I want to say thank you to my family, Twins front office, teammates, coaches, trainers and friends who day after day supported me and challenged me to be a better baseball player, a better person. Know that the Twins will always mean a lot to me. Wearing > pic.twitter.com/PGCdgbRj4Q

How is Ryan Pressly supposed to even follow that up?
I mean, I do have some questions: Who made this? Did Eduardo Escobar make this? Is this real? Did someone slip me some cool drugs? Did he have this ready to go in case of any trade? Why is he wearing a suit? What is on the suit? Is it a name tag?
Really, though, at the end of the day, it’s probably best these question stay unanswered. Eduardo Escobar is best just in his full, unexplained glory.
