Gabriel Moya got the start today, as the opener for the Twins. He got a strikeout, and gave up a hit in his inning, and then his work was done. Kohl Stewart came on for the bulk of the game, and his stat line is very encouraging, considering he seemed to be on the outs just one year ago.

Stewart pitched six full innings, giving up three hits and three walks, but also striking out five Tigers. The only run surrendered was unearned, and occurred in the bottom of the fourth inning on a rare Eddie Rosario throwing error. To make matters worse, Rosario re-aggravated his quad on the play, and had to leave the game.

Fortunately that run didn’t really matter, as the Twins took an early lead and never looked back. Rosario started the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. In the fourth inning, the Twins would add four more runs. Highlights include a double by Robbie Grossman, and RBI’s for Jake Cave, Ehire Adrianza, Willains Astudillo, and Joe Mauer. Tiger starter Jordan Zimmerman would not complete the innings.

The last Twins run came on their second dong of the night, this one stroked by Jorge Polanco in the ninth.
