You might have seen the Twitter thread going around comparing MLB players to pokemon. It’s basically everywhere over the last day or so, but in case you missed it, a couple players with connections to the Twins were included, and without further ado, let’s get to it!
First up was utilityman Taylor Motter (pictured with former Tiger Justin Verlander.) I mean, Motter was a Twin for like ten minutes, right? Just look at the similarities here...

The second Twin included in the original Tweet thread was Willians Astudillo, because baseball Twitter is absolutely infatuated with La Tortuga (for very good reasons.) Also pictured here is noted Cleveland baseballer, Mike Clevinger.

The concept was a hit, and not satisfied with being left off the original tweet thread, Phil Hughes decided to get on the fun...

Which, of course, opened the door to this happening. Poor Phil, but you brought it on yourself.

Meanwhile, someone noticed a comparison between a lovable former Twins’ pitcher and another pokemon. Gotta love some Big Sexy.

There are a ton of other great comparisons in the original thread, including Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, Noah Syndergaard, and a bunch of others! Click here to see the whole thread, and start your trek down one of the internet’s better baseball-related rabbit holes of this offseason.
