I felt really dirty typing all of that. Oh well. Here’s your open thread for the National League Wild Card game presented by <insert national sponsor looking desperately for attention here>. There’s no recap, so COTG automatically goes to everyone not named Joel Hernandez. Thank you for playing!
Brandon Woodruff (11-3, 3.62 ERA) gets the nod from Craig Counsell for the Milwaukee Brewers while the Washington Nationals will counter with Max Scherzer (11-7, 2.92 ERA).
It really surprised me that the Nationals made it to the playoffs this year, but since they lost Bryce Harper, seems like they’re able to accomplish things. Former Minnesota Twins you may want to root for include Brian Dozier, Kurt Suzuki, and Fernando Rodney (but only if you’re into the FRE).
The Brewers kinda just fell into the Wild Card game, especially after getting swept by the 71-91 Colorado Rockies (sad) to close out the regular season. They don’t have any former Twins players on their roster that I can see. They didn’t wear any powder blues this year. Maybe they deserve to lose. Hey, they have Bob Uecker on the radio.
The Brew Crew won the season series against the Nats, 4-2.
