In case you missed it:
- Uhm, so the MLB might have changed the ball again, just in time for the postseason, and made the bombas disappear. I think the Twins got screwed here.
- Zach pulled out a deep analogy about how it feels to be a Twins fan
- Jonathan looked at how much each MLB team paid per win—and the Twins found some great value out there.
- Sandwiches gave us a great primer on the roster status of the Twins players, going into the offseason
- Joseph listed the 25 Yankees he hates the most
Elsewhere in Twins Territory:
- There are currently eight MLB teams searching for new Managers. Betsy Helfand reports that the Twins might want to bring all their coaches back, but may have competition from those other eight teams.
- Tyler Duffey apparently has no love lost for Yankees fans, saying “Yankees fans, they just hate people.” I mean, I think most Twins fans agree with the Duffman.
- The Twins are looking to add “impact pitching” this offseason. This is probably good, considering how few starters they have under contract for next year. Thad Levine opened up and started talking about his plans for the team’s near-term future.
- In the front office, the Twins are looking at a contract extension for Derek Falvey that will keep in Minnesota past the end of his current contract.
- FanGraphs went back in time and forced us to relive one of the most frustrating moments Twins fans have ever been through. You know, the FAIR ball that Joe Mauer hit in 2009.
In the rest of baseball:
- NBC News looks at the fraught path from the Dominican Republic to Major League Baseball for teens from the Carribean island. Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano, Jorge Polanco, Jorge Alcala, and Fernando Romero lead the Dominicans currently playing for the Twins and their affiliates.
- This week marked the 100th anniversary of the “Black Sox” scandal rocking Chicago.
- Bartolo Colon is a man of many talents. Apparently he has written a memoir, entitled “Big Sexy,” and announced it in a classic Bartolo fashion.
- Lets bookend this thing with another story of Rob Manfred being awful. Apparently, he wants to be like his predecessor, and threaten to take teams away from great fanbases. In this case, Manfred is threatening that the As could move to Las Vegas if they don’t get their stadium situation figured out.
Discuss:
Which MLB mascot is the best, which is the worst, and why?
