Hey folks, how’s the baseball doldrums treating you? Hot stove season is just around the corner, and the World Series starts tonight, so we’ll have lots to talk about soon. In the meantime, here are some baseball bullet points. I’m eschewing my usual categories, and just throwing them all out there for you all to discuss
- Randball suggests five questions for the Twins to answer this offseason. The answer is basically “moar pitching!” The answer should always be moar pitching.
- Jim Souhan suggested the Twins should trade Eddie Rosario. I assume this is because Souhan hates fun players, and also has no idea what trade values actually are, because no one is giving up a top starter for Rosario.
- Our friends at Bless You Boys are rating the season of each of their regular players, and old friend Niko Goodrum had his turn. Raise your hand if you expected him to be a serviceable MLB regular. Now put your hands down, you filthy liars.
- If you’re like most people in Minnesota, you probably hate Joe Buck for one “disgusting act” or another. Apparently we aren’t the only ones who hate him, as one fan wore a “Joe Buck Sucks” shirt to the ALCS. Buck seems to have taken it in good humor though, and even asked for a shirt.
- On a sadder note, Eric Cooper was one of the umpires for the Twins playoff series against that New York team. Unfortunately, Mr. Cooper passed away due to complications from offseason knee surgery, in his home in Iowa. As I have no idea who he is, that implies he was one of the good umpires. Condolences to his family and friends, if they happen to read this.

What, if anything, are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?
