This is your thread for any and all World Series games. It will be updated (a lot) by me, as more information comes out.
Astros vs Nationals. The matchup everyone across the country has been wanting. It is finally here, and I am as excited as a 6-year-old watching cat videos. This is going to be a great series.
The thing is, though, that while it will be a great series, it might not be one with much offense. Both teams are here because of their pitching. The Astros will be relying on a rotation made up of three aces: Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Zack Greinke. I was not too high on the Astros coming into the playoffs, but they now have eliminated evil from the world, so they’re fine. The Nationals rotation doesn’t look as good as that of the Astros on paper, but they have two aces (Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg) and two pitchers that have risen to the occasion (Patrick Corbin and Anibal Sanchez).

And we’ll see you tomorrow night! In the third Game 7 in four years, the Nationals are in prime position to “Finish the Fight”. They are sending ace Max Scherzer to the mound. Scherzer was scheduled to make the start on Sunday, but he was scratched because he had muscle spasms in his neck. This will be his first Game 7 start in his history.
For the Astros, Game 3 starter and veteran Zack Greinke will get the start for AJ Hinch’s Astros. He pitched 4.2 innings in Game 3, and he gave up 7 hits but only 1 run. This will be the first World Series Game 7 ever in which both starting pitchers have won a Cy Young award, Scherzer winning in 2013, 2016, and 2017, and Greinke winning in 2009.
Apparently, according to ESPN.com, depressed Astros fans are driving down the ticket prices.
This is dumb. They are in the World Series!!! They have zero right to be depressed!
