I hate the Yankees. We all do. Their players are annoying and cocky and arrogant and I hate it. Of course, there are some that are worse than others. That is why I am listing the Top 25 players for anger to be targeted at.
1. Didi Gregorius
I think that all Twins fans are in agreement on this one. Whenever he plays the Twins, he always packs in a clutch, huge, back-stabbing hit. I know that I am not the first to say this, but we should sign him in the offseason just so he doesn’t play us. He has killed the Twins for much too long now. His pesky presence at the bottom of the Yankees’ lineup is the biggest reason that the Twins are out of the playoffs.
2. Aaron Judge
Judge has done a lot to help eliminate the Twins in this series. Surprisingly, though, the majority of his contributions have come with the glove, not the bat. His only hits were three singles. However, he has made significant contributions with the glove. In Game 1, he made 2 diving catches, and in Game 3, he made a leaping catch to rob the Twins of a run, and because of that, I hate him very much.
3. Gleyber Torres
Torres was very good at making his hits count. Five hits in 12 at-bats is already good, but when you consider that 4 of the hits went for extra bases, that is amazing for one series. He just kept hitting. The announcers are correct when they say that Gleyber hits like he has been in the league for 20 years. I just wish that he would magically stop producing when he faces us.
4. Luis Severino
Severino got out of jams as effectively as I’ve ever seen. In the second inning, the Twins loaded the bases with no outs. He then magically got Sano to pop out and struck out Gonzalez and Cave. That should never happen. He didn’t give up one run.
5. DJ LeMahieu
LeMahieu basically carried the Yankees in Game 1, homering in the sixth and hitting a bases-clearing double in the seventh. Game 1 was the start of the misery, and I hate him for almost single-handedly starting the misery.
6. Brett Gardner
In Game 1, he hit a home run. I do not like it when the Yankees hit home runs. He has also been in the league for ages, and has never turned from the Dark Side. Therefore, I don’t like him.
7. Edwin Encarnacion
Encarnacion has a very long history with the Twins. Happily, he didn’t produce as much as I thought he would. Before this series, he would probably have been around third.
8. Aroldis Chapman
He made our batters look foolish multiple times during the series. He was used in the ninth inning of Games 1 and 3, and shut us down.
9. Cameron Maybin
I am not fond of him for the same reasons I am not fond of Gardner: He hit a home run against the Twins and he has been in the league for very long.
10. Gio Urshela
I don’t like him because he started thriving when he joined the Dark Side, and because he scored the winning run in Game 3.
11. Giancarlo Stanton
He did not produce much in the series, but he is Giancarlo Stanton and he is on the Yankees, so yeah.
12. Chad Green
Green sucks because he worked out of multiple jams in Game 3, and also because he has an extremely lame name.
13. Tommy Kahnle
He played in all 3 ALDS games, which makes me mad.
14. Masahiro Tanaka
He started Game 2, and pretty much fooled our batters in and out. He only gave up one run over 4.2 innings, and that is dumb.
15. Gary Sanchez
He has produced a lot against the Twins previously, but did not do much at all in this series, and I salute that.
16. Austin Romine
He has played for the Yankees for 9 years, and that is way too long for someone to be on the Yankees.
17. J.A. Happ
Happ pitched a scoreless inning and is overall really stupid.
18. Tyler Lyons
He struck out Schoop and Kepler and nobody should be able to do that.
19. James Paxton
I like Paxton a lot. I liked him when he was with the Mariners, and I still like him, despite him being on the Yankees. He probably would be last on this list, but he did pitch well against us, so...
20. Luke Voit
He is nice because he was the reason that Tyler Austin was traded to us, and I liked Austin.
21. Luis Cessa
He did not pitch against us. That is nice.
22. Adam Ottavino
He pitched in all three games, and gave up a hit and two walks over 1 inning pitched. That is many baserunners. Good.
23: Tyler Wade
He didn’t play in the series, and I have a friend named Tyler, so he ain’t bad.
24. Jonathan Loaisiga
He gave up a run, and I like runs. Plus his name is awesome.
25. Zack Britton
He gave up a home run to Rosario and I like home runs.
Honorable Mention: The Yankees Parrot guy
I mean, what the heck is a grown man doing at a baseball game with a stuffed parrot?!? I get the whole Encarnacion parrot walk thingy, but it is still beyond stupid. He also looks like a Spike Lee wannabe, which is never a good thing.
