Community discussion: Who is the biggest bust in Twins history?

Let’s talk about the players you felt never lived up to their potential

What is a bust? The simplest definition is a player who never lived up to his potential, or to his billing. Obviously, we tend to remember the highest profile guys, although there are any number of players who never crack a MLB roster, not all of them can be labelled busts.

When Ethmaestro posed this question to the rest of the staff last night, we came up with a few answers, but our list is by no means exhaustive. We came up with David McCarty, Joe Benson, Mark Hamburger, Alex Meyer, Logan Morrison, Josmil Pinto, Alex Wimmers and John Ryan Murphy. We also brainstormed some possible future busts—Byron Buxton, Kohl Stewart, Nick Gordon, and Tyler Jay—players we all hope to see shed that label as soon as this season. Do any of these guys stand out more than the rest, or did we miss someone who is an ever bigger bust?

So now, we turn it over to the comments. What player would you consider the biggest bust in Twins history, and why?
