Game 3: Cleveland at Twins

The Twins will try to win their first series of 2019.

MLB: Spring Training-Pittsburgh Pirates at Minnesota Twins Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

First Pitch: 1:10 PM CDT

TV: FSNO

Radio: TIBN

Probable starters: Carlos Carrasco (CLE) vs Michael Pineda (MIN).

The Twins lineup has been held in check by Kluber and Bauer so far, and it won’t get much easier for them today. Carrasco had a 3.38 ERA (2.94 FIP) and struck out 10.8 batters per 9 innings last year. The Cleveland rotation is stacked, pretty much. Their top 3 starters would be aces on a lot of teams.

Meanwhile, Michael Pineda is making his first start since 2017, after having Tommy John surgery. In spring training he threw 20.1 innings (3.54 ERA), striking out 20 and walking 5. If Pineda can regain his pre-surgery form it would be a boon to the Twins starting rotation.
