Twinkie Town Talk: Everyone is getting hurt Edition

In case you missed it yesterday:

• Bert Blyleven and Joe Nathan are the twins-iest of the former Twins participating in the Hall of Fame Classic Game.
• A preview of the Kansas City Royals, who the Twins will be taking on later today.
• A great fanpost by 2wins87 on some of the more under-the-radar prospects to watch.

Elsewhere in Twins territory

• Even Dave St. Peter gets in on the Cleveland-mocking fun, in this case turning around the classic “why didn’t they build a roof” line.
• The Twins double-A affiliate, the amazingly named Blue Wahoos, have announced their opening roster, which contains some high-end prospect talent.
• Nick Gordon and Stephen Gonsalves are both going to be starting the season on the Injured List. We basically can’t have nice things.

And in the wide, wide baseball world:

• Fangraphs categorizes the times that position players have struck out their fellow batsmen. Some times are excusable, and some are embarrassing. Beloved old friend Chris Gimenez makes an appearance on this list. He’s a coach someplace now, but maybe he should be a pitching coach?
• At least it’s not just our prospects... Basically all of the Yankees are headed to the Injured List. Maybe they are mortal?
• Yet another unfortunate injury—this time happening to a Reds prospect. Hunter Greene, the player the Twins could have taken instead of Royce Lewis a couple years ago, is going to need Tommy John surgery
• SI’s Emma Baccellieri put together a list of “What makes every AL team fun in 2019,” and you’ll notice this isn’t in the section about the Twins. That’s because her take for the Twins is utterly and completely grievously wrong. What makes the Twins fun for 2019 is the Turtle, not the Hare, Emma.
